Chapters Introduction (00:00) Web Applications (06:51) Clustering (09:26) Terminal Services (16:26) Application Servers (25:13) Virtualization (30:00) Hosted Instances (44:05) Hosted Solutions (54:41) Public vs. Private Clouds (58:06) Final Thoughts (60:00) Class Notes Introduction Cloud Computing is a design philosophy that breaks the Operating System and Applications from the Hardware Web Applications Are Created in Web Programming Languages Generally Use Databases to Store Data Clusters Are Generally Used for Database Servers (MySQL, Microsoft Active Directory) Load is balanced between servers in a cluster. If one server fails the cluster responds by not sending traffic to it. Servers maintain the same data by using replication Terminal Services Based off of old Mainframe and Dumb Terminal Architecture Now You Use Terminal Services Servers and Thin Clients Thin Clients can be Hardware Devices or Software installed on a computer All processing happens on Terminal Services Server and the Thin Client simply gets a “Window” into the server. Example: www.ncomputing.com Application Servers Uses Terminal Services but …

Eli, Eli, ELI!!! Bro, I just had to give a big shout out, to you! I just finished my 17th video of yours and dude, I am seriously happy with your videos. Yes, all of them! I hate sounding like some sort of idiot saying thanks a million times, but you are seriously making life better for my family by making me smarter AND it’s actually fun, too! Looks like I only have 365 more videos to go
P.S. This one was my favorite, even though they all rock!
sir may i get an expaination about SAAS PAAS and IAAS,please?
Great Class.. very useful.
Thanks for a great presentation. Great explanations, nice work.
In that case, are you saying anything that an organisation makes available remotely is deemed cloud computing?
You can… That is what is called a “private cloud”…
I’m confused. Why in the opening 7 minutes do you not refer to cloud computing as scalable, secure computing services delivered remotely over the web. Talking virtualisation is all well and good and forms a core component of how providers deliver cloud computing but it leaves me thinking I can ‘cloud compute’ with my own infrastructure if I just go and get some VMs up and running.
I GET IT! sort of. but for a complete computer amateur this is a miracle. thank you
Great class!
Hei eli, you are a incredible teacher. I learnet a lot watching your videos. I’m wondering if of course you have time and want to give me info for “redundanta IP (VRRP, HSRP, CARP, bond) “,”routing instances/vrf”,”firewalling (iptables, ipfilter, ipfw, pf, access-list”.
If you like and can give me pointers, I would received them with pride and thanks.
Belive me when I’m teling you that I learned more from you about some videos, than any info I got from google, or atore teachers.
can a dumb terminal connect to hosted terminal services?
Great video for begginers like me. Thanks for posting
Such a sick guy
superb!!! thanks a lot.. i learn a lot
Thanks, buddy for a great presentation. You make our life so much easier. Any chance of doing a presentation on ERP, eli?. Once again, a great initiative by you.
Just logged in to click like. The class was wonderful. Enjoyed it! Thank you very much Eli!!
Excellent presentation and very clear and detailed…MUST WATCH!!!

awesome presentation……..
Fantastic video Eli!!!!! Thanks for demystifying Cloud for a rookie like me..!!
audio is messed up
no audio!!
Ok, am I the only woman who just watched this video?
thanx eli….. becouse of you i got very good knowledge in virtualization and cloud computing…. i am requesting u that i need san topics can u teach me plsss……………………..
You look like o flaherty
“Those who will give a little freedom for more security deserve neither and will get none.”
But… will it be great?
Lawyer TB. Go for it!
*sees name Chuggaconroy* *completetly flippes her shit*
TB – What happened to your Bose QC15?
Look up the definition of the word ‘hypocrisy’ and try again.
Oh suuuure, Jesse. You cleaned it. Not your maid or anything. You did that.
#VoteBiscuit
That does not make him a hypocrite…
That makes him biased but hes probably not too far off the mark…
!!!!!!!!!!
Chugga looks and sounds so much like my cousin…
yea you showed them!!!!!!!!!
XD
I have pirated a lot of games. AFTER I BOUGHT THEM.
Fuck you, DRM!
Funny how sometimes i pirate the crack, just to get some games working when i’m offline
.
Give me ace combat 4 pc and i will buy 5 copies.
I wish i could talk to chuggaa
No worries Chugga, I got your Wii U pun, and it was fantastic.
That’s not hipocrisy, that would be bias.
SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI. S-H-I-N | M-E-G-A-M-I | T-E-N-S-E-I
Not fuckin’ “shin megumi tensi”
There goes Jesse again, spewing nonsense… “HERP DERP ERMAGERD HURRRR DURRR, I didn’t like this game, therefor 9/10 people you ask will say they didn’t like it, HERP DERP ERMAGERD HURRRR DURRR”
If anyone ever’s wondered what hypocrisy is – that’s it in a nutshell. Biggest bullshit I’ve heard from Jesse in a while. I hate it when he does that because I really like him – when he’s not talking bullshit.
Wow Chugga’s Face~
I don’t want one person to be the voice of all gamers. I like TB but I don’t agree on all he says. If there is a problem with something then there will be others. It’s just a question of getting people together and do something about it.
I said entertaining.
I care what others think because I can’t have certain nice things when they all are thinking in a certain way. We need a voice because apparently we can’t speak for ourselves good enough for people to listen. You, for one, too easy slip to “everyone can be corrupted” argument.
Of course, we need not a single vioce, the many we have and the better they are – the better are things we can have, and I’m not talking just about gamers.
I didn’t dodge – you just didn’t read.
